The story of HeulNichtRum If you have read carefully up to this point, you will certainly have noticed the name Octopussy, which has already been mentioned twice and is inseparably linked to HeulNichtRum. Apparently this is not a person – or a living being? –that one would like to meet alone in the dark. But who or what is Octopussy anyway? To understand this, we need to look back into the past – a past when there were still hardy sailors and genuine pirate ships. One of these ships was the Black Tear, on which the infamous Octopussy was hired as rum steward. Under the leadership of Captain Sot, a real drunkard, she was forced to ration the rum for the crew day in, day out – and to endure the constant whining: “I didn’t get any yesterday!“or “That guy has a lot more in his glass than I do!”“there were the most bearable cries. No wonder that Octopussy eventually got fed up with it, since she herself wasn't allowed to drink a single drop of the good rum. So one night she decided to secretly leave the ship.
