Born from passion, inspired by heritage Makagi is about more than just candles. We are a brand born from the belief that every home deserves warmth, beauty and a personal touch. Founded in 2021 by Chichi, our story began with a simple desire: to create something unique that comes straight from the heart. The name Makagi comes from Igbo, Chichi's Nigerian roots, and means "For you"—a reminder that each of our candles is made especially for you. From thought to craft It all started when Chichi, frustrated with her job during the pandemic, came across handmade body candles. Fascinated by the combination of art and functionality, she decided to follow this creative path. This is how Makagi was born. What started as a personal passion project evolved into a brand that celebrates individuality, femininity and empowerment. After countless experiments – with wax, shapes, scents and designs – Chichi perfected the process of creating candles that not only look beautiful, but also evoke feelings and memories.
