Marisma Biomed was born from a vital need: prevention is better than cure. After years dedicated to treating vascular diseases such as stroke, our team—made up in part of medical professionals—decided to go a step further. Tired of seeing patients arrive when it was already too late, we realized that the real revolution had to begin much earlier: in our diet, in our daily lives, in what we put on the table. This is how our story began. A story that took us to the marshes of southern Spain, where we discovered the power of salicornia: a halophyte plant that grows in extreme conditions and develops, as a defense, a high concentration of antioxidant polyphenols and essential minerals such as magnesium and potassium. This plant, which we had seen since we were children on our walks among the salt marshes, became the focus of passionate research: what if its natural defense mechanisms could also help us protect human health? Today we transform this plant shield into healthy, functional, and delicious products. Because at Marisma Biomed we believe that eating healthy should not be at odds with pleasure.
