Our name “Soeji” (pronounced Sudschi) comes from Javanese and means something like “pure” or “unadulterated” – exactly what characterizes our products. We deliver fair trade home accessories directly to your home, which impress with their unique synthesis of traditional Indonesian manufacturing methods and modern design. With Soeji we want to make it easy for you to bring a piece of tropical lifestyle into your home. We are Claudia and Tim. An Indonesian-German duo with a professional background in interior design and retail. When we first started planning to start our own small business, we were in our early twenties and still in the middle of our studies. The story behind the Soeji brand began when we happened upon several small wickerwork workshops during a stay in Claudia's home country of Indonesia in the summer of 2019. We quickly recognized the potential of these timeless products, whose detailed workmanship impressed us immensely, and also the need to preserve traditional manufacturing methods in the long term by increasing orders.
