Tecán Tequila

Tecán is a 100% Blue Weber Agave Reposado tequila that has been fermented for 50 hours and aged in American White Oak barrels for 8 months. The (for tequila standards) long fermentation gives Tecán a full and soft taste. The way of maturing provides a distinctive vanilla flavor note. This combination creates a beautifully smooth and flavorful tequila, best to drink straight. On first inspection it’s not entirely clear what Tecán is or means, which makes sense, it’s a word we made up. It’s the fusion of two words: tequila and bacán. The first word speaks for itself. As for bacán, it’s a slang term used in certain Latin American countries to describe a pleasant and alluring person; people characterized by their flair and confidence. They are the embodiment of having fun and enjoying life. Everybody knows a bacán-type person, and might be one themselves. They are the main attraction the moment they make an entrance and take everyone along for the ride. It’s a feeling everybody can relate to, and it’s great to feel that way. That’s what Tecán is.
