The story of the Tyrolean stone pine cushion OR ... how to bring a piece of alpine air home! Growing up on a farm, I developed a close connection to nature at an early age. Every summer I spent a few weeks with my grandfather on the alp to help with the work there. Our Alm is located at about 1500 m above sea level, surrounded by beautiful mountains in a beautiful landscape, far away from any civilization. Sometimes it was quite exhausting. My grandfather was a very hard working man. There was always something to do with him. Of course, we children had to help. Every night after the cows were milked and tended, my grandfather would cook dinner for us. As long as daylight permitted, we read old magazines that our family sent us every few days by milk guide (he brings fresh milk from the alpine pastures to the alpine dairymen in the valley every day). Later, when it was dark and I was lying on my bunk bed in the alpine hut, I listened to the familiar sound of the bells of our cows grazing around the hut.
