At Brooklyn, the guiding principle is the joy that animals and color can bring to our lives. The brand was conceived in Germany and New York City, and finally born in Spain in 2025. It features the whimsical art of illustrator Anja Riebensahm. She started, and continues, to work as a textile designer but quickly branched out into postcards and other paper goods, fueled by her passion for sending and receiving mail. She lives with a cockatiel, Wallis, who is her inspiration, mascot and supervisor.
