A range you can defend

The pricing principle

Most creators price a sponsored post from three inputs: audience size, engagement rate, and what the brand is buying beyond the post itself. The tables below show what creators in each follower band actually charge, drawn from rate cards published on Limurse. Use the median as your anchor and the quartile spread as your negotiating range.

In India, a creator with under 10K followers charges a median of ₹1,000 for a feed post and ₹2,000 for a reel or video; with 10K to 50K followers, ₹2,000 for a feed post and ₹5,000 for a reel or video; with 50K to 250K followers, ₹5,000 for a feed post and ₹10,000 for a reel or video. These are medians of rate cards creators publish on Limurse, in rupees; the tables below show the typical range for every band. See the full tables

Bold figures are the median rate. The line beneath is the 25th to 75th percentile spread, which is the range most negotiations land in. Cells marked as estimated did not have enough published rate cards to report safely, so they show the calculator formula instead. Aggregated from 2240 published rate cards; groups below the minimum sample are suppressed so no individual rate is identifiable.

Read the median column as the going rate for your band and the p25 to p75 spread as the room you have to negotiate. Sitting above the median needs a reason a brand recognises, usually engagement well above the band average, a niche audience that is hard to reach elsewhere, or a track record of driving sales. If you are asking how much influencers charge in India, brands there usually talk in the same tiers: nano creators up to about ten thousand followers, micro influencers up to about a hundred thousand, then mid tier and above. An Instagram reel is priced above a static post or a story set because filming and editing take longer, and rates differ by category, so compare yourself with creators in your own niche, such as beauty and fashion or food, rather than with one market rate. Brands planning a campaign budget for influencer campaigns can read the same tables from the other side.

How these numbers are produced

The method in full, so you can judge the figures rather than take them on trust.

Creators on Limurse publish a rate card as part of their profile. Those figures are grouped by deliverable and by audience band, and reported as the 25th, 50th, and 75th percentile of each group. Any group with fewer contributors than the minimum sample is dropped entirely rather than reported with a caveat, so no individual creator's rate can be worked back out of a published number.

Where a band has too few rate cards to publish, the calculator falls back to a transparent formula: a cost per thousand followers for a feed post, weighted by deliverable, scaled by engagement rate against a two percent baseline. Those cells are labelled as estimates throughout, and they are never mixed into the published percentiles.

Usage rights and category exclusivity are applied as uplifts on top of the base deliverable rather than as separate charges, because both extend how much value a brand takes from the same piece of work. Figures are rounded to negotiable numbers on purpose. A rate card that reads to the smallest currency unit implies a precision this data does not have.

These are starting points for a negotiation, not quotes, and not a guarantee of what any brand will pay. Brands comparing those asking rates with measured CPM, CPE and ROAS can use the Creator Commerce Index.

Frequently asked questions

How much should an influencer charge per post?

A common starting point is a percentage of follower count, but real rate cards vary widely by engagement, niche, and usage rights. The Limurse Rate Calculator anchors on percentile benchmarks from creator rate cards in your follower band, then adjusts for engagement rate and add-ons, so the number reflects what peers actually charge rather than a flat formula.

How does the Limurse Rate Calculator work?

It compares your follower count and engagement rate against anonymized rate cards from creators in the same follower band, and returns a low, mid, and high range per deliverable. When a band has too few contributors to publish safely, it falls back to a transparent formula based on reach and engagement and labels the result as an estimate.

What is a fair rate for usage rights and exclusivity?

Usage rights and exclusivity are priced as uplifts on the base deliverable, not as separate line items. Agree each uplift in writing before you quote: both extend the value a brand gets well beyond the original post, and the right price depends on the scope and duration of the licence.

Is the Limurse Rate Calculator free?

Yes. The calculator and the published benchmarks are free and need no account. Signing in adds niche-level benchmarks and lets creators save a rate card that brands can see during collaboration.

Where does the benchmark data come from?

From rate cards that creators enter on Limurse. Figures are aggregated into percentiles by follower band, and any band with fewer contributors than the minimum sample is suppressed entirely, so no individual creator rate can be inferred from the published numbers.
